Asheville, NC
IRD put on their first North Carolina show this past Friday night at the Boiler Room in downtown Asheville. We got invited to perform through Dr. DP and the Trainrunners, a kick ass ska/reggae band (http://www.myspace.com/drdpandthetrainrunners). Also performing that night was a reggae group, Bums Lie and a bluegrass group, Poor Mouth. The show had a good turnout with a wide variety of music and people.
We performed a mix of old and new songs with Spitty Crack holding it down on the mic. Hyperdrive had control of the crowd and backup vocals as the hypeman. As for myself, I played keys and rapped on a couple of songs. We got a lot of love from the crowd and had a blast doing it. Later on, Spitty went back on stage with a six piece band behind him performing "Remember Back in the Day" and a new unreleased track called "Self Portrait".
The show was definately a success to get going as a group down here in NC. We plan on playing more shows this summer and in the future to bring our music to new audiences. The tube is getting warmed up on our new condenser microphone, I'm gonna go try it out. Peace!
