Well, there is much to be said about our first completed release. Obviously we had no fuckin' clue what we were doing, and that includes everything. The editing, mixing, and recording are beyond awful (you can hear Brucey's furnace fire up in the middle of a couple songs). Spitty Crack was going through a rough time in his life and it effected everything from his lyrics, flow, delivery and even his voice. The album has no flow, no continuity and just doesn't come together as an "album". It just came up as an idea to get something released so every song we recorded after that, made it to the Abortion. It should have been more carefully thought out and no true hard work was put into it. We all were so excited about finally releasing something to the public that we sacrificed quality.

Looking beyond the never-ending negatives of The Abortion, it must be looked at as a starting point for IRD. Don't expect any new material to sound anything like anything off the Abortion. We are striving to release the best music we can possibly release and that takes an extreme amount of time, money, and hard work. The overall quality in lyrics, choruses, production and sound are light years away from The Abortion. Editing and mixing used to be looked as a quick task, but now Brucey and I spend endless hours on this (I'm talking 7-10 hrs just for one track, maybe more). Spitty writes at least 2 hours a day and practices even more than that. We are not afraid of rewriting verses, re-recording verses or scraping a whole song. IRD wants to release as much material as possible, but not unless every facet is at the highest quality possible.

The Abortion is just like everyone's first fuck; the performance was terrible, but it felt great to do it. It was a special experience for all of us to be apart of and will not be forgotten. I can't wait to look back on the days of making that album and to realize how far we have come. From the feedback I received, "Back in the Day" seemed to be the fan favorite, but many others shouted out other tracks as their personal treats. I'm not going to get into breaking down the beats and rhymes for you since this material is old hat. Just download it, listen, and enjoy the first adventure in the studio with the Illest Rhyme Droppaz.
