Love for the Kids, so Why They Still Hating???

Hate My Style (Produced By the Wreking Krew- Brucey B, Ox the Prophet, and Cpt. Hyperdrive)

Vocals- Spitty Crack
Guitar- Zack Bijesse, Dallas Garvin (Outro)

Brucey copped the sample from a Paul McCartney record and had his brother, Zack, lay down some guitar. This beat is over a year old and I originally had Spitty, Jballs, and Ox lay down verses, but to be honest with you they didn't do the beat justice. So, I hit up Spitty with the beat and told him what I felt and a couple hours later, boom, he has an entire song written with a chorus. The concept is based on haters and how no love is shown to the true, original artists in music, especially hip hop. After the vocals were laid down, I got to editing. I added horns to the chorus, layered crystal synth for the second verse when the beat drops, and added a sick, grimy synth for the third verse. You can also notice certain effects on the vocals like the when Spitty says "CRUNCH". This is a complete song with flowing verses, intoxicating bassline, beat drops, reversed drums, great hook with Ox providing his Opera voice, and stellar lyrics.

Vocals- Ox the Prophet (Verse 1), Spitty Crack (Verse 2/Chorus)

Brucey B did some real digging on this beat, he actually used a Christmas holiday record for the horns that are blaring on the track. He got a CD of drum samples that were recorded in an auditorium that gives great reverb and wide sound to the drums. I kept this in mind during the mix and added theatre reverb to the vocals. Ox the Prophet kicks off song with a wide range of flows that are catchy from the first horn hit. Spitty continues the catchy trend by adding a short and simple, but effective chorus. Spitty's verse was groundbreaking in my eyes because he used a higher pitched voice I've never heard before with some really outrageous flows. We had him back dub his verse with a lower tone voice to had some low frewuency to the vocal mix. The effects on the vocals for the outro really end the track with a pop. It's short, but packs a punch that will have you hitting repeat!

Spitty Crack-Verse
Ox the Prophet- Bridge
Mike Mancuso (Dr. DP)- Trombone, Bass, Drums, Guitar
Kavon K- Sax
Ryan Porciello- Guitar (Outro)

Brucey is enrolled in an audio engineering program @ UNCA and he had the great chance to meet Mike Mancuso. A multi-talented musician who can play pretty much any instrument that a band would need, he and Brucey found a chemistry. So they got together for a school project and created "Remember Back in the Day". Brucey recorded each instrument and re-arranged, EQed, and editied for the perfect fit. This is a real blusey track with a groovy bassline, distorted guitars, and of course the sax. Spitty provides some really head nodding material that moves right along with the bass. He exhibits his skill when the beat drops and he flows with the hats building to the break. Ox's jumps in with the bridge that dances with the guitar. Ryan Porciello also lent a hand by contributing his ax-wielding skills for the outro. Ryan laid three takes down and I mixed and matched, used Amplitube 2 for the wailing BB King blues sound, and panned the guitar for added bonus. I can't wait until this can be performed with a live band and this track will reach it's full potential, so hope for that.

Much thanks to everyone outside the group who contributed, fuckin awesome job. Take a listen, thow it on your Ipod, repost somewhere, and let's us know what you think. Enjoy and much more to come!

One,
CPT. HyperDrive
